The official Weekly Top 10 Christian Music Hits song list is compiled by your Guide by checking and averaging Christian charts and top play lists from all over the U.S. such as Billboard and Air 1.
Chris Tomlin and Tenth Avenue North are closing June out on top and new music from Brandon Heath adds to the pre-July heat.
1. "I Will Rise" - Chris Tomlin
"I Will Rise," which debuted twelve weeks ago, is the latest single off of Chris Tomlin's 2008 release Hello Love.
2. "By Your Side" - Tenth Avenue North
"By Your Side," which debuted last November, is the second radio single from the Dove New Artist of the Year's debut album, Over and Underneath. With very Jon Forman sounding vocals, the song is written from the perspective of Jesus himself, and asks some hard questions about why we don't seem to feel like he's enough.
3. "The Motions" - Matthew West
The last single release from Something To Say spent 20 weeks in the Top 10 and was the #1 song of 2008. Does "The Motions," a powerful song about living your life instead of just going through the motions, have what it takes to do as well as "You Are Everything?" With this song being in the top 4 on six different charts again this week, I would have to say yes!
4. "In The Hands of God" - Newsboys
"In The Hands of God," which we first saw eight weeks ago, is the title track from the latest Newsboys release. Very upbeat and positive, this song is a highlight of the album.
5. "Revelation Song" - Phillips, Craig & Dean
"Revelation Song," which debuted last week, is off of the upcoming August release, fearless. A tribute to the greatness of Jesus, this song is already a hit at radio.
6. "Free To Be Me" - Francesca Battistelli
After debuting 21 weeks ago, this song moved up the charts like a bullet before starting the downward slide this week. The upbeat "Free To Be Me" is the second radio release from My Paper Heart to make the Top 10.
7. "Finally Home" - MercyMe
"Finally Home" is the latest single release from All That Is Within Me and this is the 18th week we've seen it. Bart Millard's favorite song on the album because it reminds him of the day that he'll get to see his dad again, this emotional tune resonates with listeners because we all have loved ones that we long to see again.
8. "Fading" - Decyfer Down
"Fading," which we first saw in April, is from Crash (the May release, not the EP from last year). With TJ Harris on vocals instead of Caleb Oliver, the sound is different but not in a bad way at all.
9. "You Found Me" - Big Daddy Weave
"You Found Me," in it's 9th week, kicks into high gear and doesn't slow down a bit. Off of last summer's What Life Would Be Like, this song will be a favorite for this summer season.
10. "Wait and See" - Brandon Heath
Debuting this week, "Wait and See" is the second radio release off of What If We. The first single was the #8 song for 2008. We will have to wait and see if this tune will do as well.
