The official Top 10 Christian hit songs list is compiled by your Guide by checking and averaging Christian charts from all over the U.S. such as Billboard and R&R.
Fee and Tenth Avenue North are the two most popular bands of the last week of June 2008 but Third Day isn't far behind. Skillet, which debuts new music this week, is also coming on strong, making you wonder if Fee can continue to hold the top spot in the Top 10.
1. "All Because Of Jesus" - Fee
Moving up from #2, "All Because of Jesus" comes to us from Fee's 2007 release, We Shine. You've heard this tune before because Casting Crowns covered it on The Altar And The Door, but you haven't heard it like this.
2. "Love is Here" - Tenth Avenue North
"Love is Here," which is at week #4 in the Top 10, is off of the band's debut CD, Over and Underneath. Soft rock with touching lyrics, this tune could easily be an "Unplugged" version of Switchfoot.
3. "Call My Name" - Third Day
"Call My Name," which debuted 5 weeks ago, is off of the upcoming new album, Revelation, which releases on July 29th. Brad Avery may be missing, but the classic Third Day sound sure isn't. This rocker is just a taste of what we have to look forward to in July.
4. "Your Grace is Enough" - Matt Maher
This beautiful song, which debuted 4 weeks ago, is off of Matt's Essential Records debut, Empty & Beautiful, which is literally "outta this world" as it went into space on NASA’s Space Shuttle Discovery Mission STS-124.
5. "Washed By The Water" - NEEDTOBREATHE
"Washed By The Water" is off of NEEDTOBREATHE's 2007 album The Heat. Piano-driven and based on a true story, this one is a real winner.
6. "Every Man" - Casting Crowns
Moving down from number 5 in week 12 in the Top 10, "Every Man" is the latest radio release from The Altar and The Door. As always, Mark Hall hits home with the lyrics on this tune, reminding us that there are plenty of every-day type people out there waiting for someone to give them some words of hope, encouragement and love.
7. "Let it Fade" - Jeremy Camp
Moving down from number 4, Jeremy and wife Adrienne hit every note on this beautiful pop/rock tune, making it one of the best from the CD (which is excellent in itself).
8. "You Are Everything" - Matthew West
Moving down from number 3, this song is definitely a hit for West. Off of the new release, Something To Say, Matthew West has a great deal to say after successful vocal cord surgery. This album isn't simply food for thought ... it's food for your spirit and your soul.
9. "Those Nights" - Skillet
Debuting this week, "Those Nights" is the latest single off of 2006's Comatose. Hitting home with a wide range of people, this one "clicks" because we've all had "those nights."
10. "Come Thou Fount" - Jadon Lavik
"Come Thou Fount," which debuted in late April, is off of Jadon's February 2008 release, Roots Run Deep. This acoustic version of the traditional hymn has a traditional delivery, yet it's got a modern feel which will delight those who love the old as well as those who lean toward the new.
