Weekly Top 10 Christian Music Hits

For the Week Ending July 5, 2009

By , About.com Guide

The official Weekly Top 10 Christian Music Hits song list is compiled by your Guide by checking and averaging Christian charts and top play lists from all over the U.S. such as Billboard and Air 1.

Matthew West is back on top this week (you just can't keep that song down), but Chris Tomlin is nipping at his heels. Smokie Norful and Mary Mary (with Kierra 'Kiki' Sheard) come in with new music, giving an urban groove to this week's Top 10.

1. "The Motions" - Matthew West

Matthew West - Something To SaySparrow
The last single release from Something To Say spent 20 weeks in the Top 10 and was the #1 song of 2008. Does "The Motions," a powerful song about living your life instead of just going through the motions, have what it takes to do as well as "You Are Everything?" With this song being in the top 4 on six different charts again this week (the 17th), I would have to say yes!

Tenth Avenue North - Over and UnderneathIntegrity
"By Your Side," which debuted last November, is the second radio single from the Dove New Artist of the Year's debut album, Over and Underneath. With very Jon Forman sounding vocals, the song is written from the perspective of Jesus himself, and asks some hard questions about why we don't seem to feel like he's enough.
