The official Top 10 Weekly Christian hit songs list is compiled by your Guide by checking and averaging Christian charts from all over the U.S. such as Billboard and R&R.
While Brandon Heath and tobyMac stay on top, there are also three new songs in the Top 10 this week. Look for new tunes from Steven Curtis Chapman, Mark Roach and Pillar.
1. "Give Me Your Eyes" - Brandon Heath
"Give Me Your Eyes," which debuted 13 weeks ago, is off of Brandon's new release, What If We, which hit stores on August 19th. A soft melody carries a big stick on this tune.
2. "Lose My Soul" - tobyMac f/ Kirk Franklin & Mandisa
"Lose My Soul," from Portable Sounds, features Kirk Franklin and Mandisa as well as lyrics that let you know, beyond doubt, just how sincere about living his life to God's standards tobyMac really is. This song debuted four weeks ago and this week it moves down from number 1.
3. "Jesus Messiah" - Chris Tomlin
"Jesus Messiah," which debuted 15 weeks ago, is off of Chris Tomlin's new release Hello Love which hit stores on September 2, 2008. This song released to radio on June 13th and it was the most added song on Christian Adult Contemporary, Christian Hit Radio, and Christian Inspirational radio that week, with 97 total adds, (according to Radio & Records).
4. "Yours" - Steven Curtis Chapman
Debuting this week, "Yours" comes to us from This Moment. This worship anthem reminds us that God rules it all and we truly do belong to him.
5. "The Least I Can Do" - Mark Roach
Debuting this week, "The Least I Can Do" comes from Mark's 2007 release, Every Reason Why. This piano ballad has been so popular that this is the second time we've seen it on a Mark Roach release, having heard it first on his EP, Sevenfold.
6. "Shine With Me" - P.O.D.
"Shine With Me," which debuted two weeks ago, is off of When Angels and Serpents Dance. The song has more of a pop vibe than most P.O.D. stuff, but they make it work.
7. "You Reign" - MercyMe
"You Reign" from All That Is Within Me is the second radio single to do really well. This week marks the 18th week it has been in the Top 10 and there will be plenty more weeks for this great song.
8. "Always" - Jason Champion
"Always," which debuted six weeks ago, comes to us from Jason Champion's debut CD, Reflections. With an R&B groove, this song is full of love and encouragement.
9. "Turn It Up" - Pillar
Debuting this week and off of For the Love of the Game, Pillar got really creative lyrically with this tune, using song and album titles from 34 different Christian artists for the verses.
10. "It's Your Season" - Norman Hutchins
"It's Your Season," which debuted six weeks ago, is off of Spontaneous Praise Vol. 1, which was recorded live at the Pentecostals of Dover Church in front of a capacity crowd.
