In the Top 10 for the first week of December 2008, Brandon Heath and tobyMac hold onto their positions. Third Day joins them with new music and we're counting down to Christmas with great music!
1. "Give Me Your Eyes" - Brandon Heath
"Give Me Your Eyes," which debuted 16 weeks ago, is off of Brandon's new release, What If We, which hit stores on August 19th. A soft melody carries a big stick on this tune.
2. "Lose My Soul" - tobyMac f/ Kirk Franklin & Mandisa
"Lose My Soul," from Portable Sounds, features Kirk Franklin and Mandisa as well as lyrics that let you know, beyond doubt, just how sincere about living his life to God's standards tobyMac really is. This song debuted seven weeks ago and has been playing musical chairs with Brandon Heath for the #1 spot for some time.
3. "There Will Be a Day" - Jeremy Camp
This powerful and passionate song, which debuted four weeks ago, comes to us from Jeremy's new release, Speaking Louder Than Before. The song has set a ton of records at radio and once you hear it, you'll certainly understand why. Outstanding!
4. "By Your Side" - Tenth Avenue North
"By Your Side," which debuted four weeks ago, is the second radio single from the band's debut album, Over and Underneath. With very Jon Forman sounding vocals, the song is written from the perspective of Jesus himself, and asks some hard questions about why we don't seem to feel like he's enough.
5. "Slow Fade" - Casting Crowns
"Slow Fade," which debuted last week, is the latest radio release from The Altar and The Door. As always, Mark Hall hits home with the lyrics on this tune and the music is excellent.
6. "Jesus Messiah" - Chris Tomlin
"Jesus Messiah," which debuted 18 weeks ago, is off of Chris Tomlin's new release Hello Love which hit stores on September 2, 2008. This song released to radio on June 13th and it was the most added song on Christian Adult Contemporary, Christian Hit Radio, and Christian Inspirational radio that week, with 97 total adds, (according to Radio & Records).
7. "What Life Would be Like" - Big Daddy Weave
"What Life Would Be Like" debuted in the Top 10 twelve weeks ago. It is the title track of of Big Daddy Weave's July release.
8. "Here I Am" - downhere
"Here I Am," which debuted in mid-October, comes from the release, Ending is Beginning. The beautifully done pop ballad is about our own flaws and insecurities and how while we will fall and fail, God can and will put us back together again.
9. "Revelation" - Third Day
Debuting this week, "Revelation" is the title track and second radio single off of the new album, Revelation, which released on July 29th. This one will rock all the way to the top! Brad Avery may be missing, but the classic Third Day sound sure isn't.
10. "You Reign" - MercyMe
"You Reign" from All That Is Within Me is the second radio single to do really well. This week marks the 21st week it has been in the Top 10 and there will be plenty more weeks for this great song.
