Jamie Grace has had a busy first half of the year in 2012. Nominated as the Best Christian Pop Contemporary Artist in the 2012 Readers' Choice Awards, and getting a GRAMMY nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Music Song, as well as a Billboard Music Awards nomination, the talented young singer and songwriter went on to be honored at the BMI 2012 Christian Music Awards and the 2012 Dove Awards. Her debut single, "Hold Me" featuring tobyMac (Purchase/Download), went all the way to number one three different charts (National Audience, AC and CHR). And this was all while finishing college and graduating from Point University with a degree in child and youth development in May!
For the remainder of 2012, this busy young woman will be performing all over the U.S., performing at festivals, on The Music Boat Cruise and then ending her year with two different tobyMac tours - the Eye On It Tour with tobyMac and Chris August followed by the HITS DEEP Tour with tobyMac, Brandon Heath, Chris August, Britt Nicole and Group 1 Crew.
None of these achievements should be a surprise because when Jamie was diagnosed with Tourette syndrome in 2003 at the age of eleven, she decided to focus on what she can do rather than what she can't. That focus and drive, along with a strong faith and a love of the Lord, helped the daughter of two Atlanta pastors navigate her way to a place well beyond "normal" into a place of grace and greatness.
