A series of fortunate events led one of South Africas most successful rock groups to the U.S. in hopes of sharing their music with new fans across the country. Cape Towns SAMA (South African Music Awards)-nominated Peculiar People Band, whove landed two Top 10 songs on South African mainstream pop radio, say that things just kind of snow-balled for them. After achieving wide-spread popularity in South Africa, they now find themselves preparing for not only their first U.S. release, but a seven month tour promoting their new CD.
Not Ashamed, produced by Phil Sillas (Plus One) and Ralph Stover (Michael Miller), continues to meld the bands rapidly maturing modern rock sound with worshipful, straightforward lyrics. Their first single, Can I Leave My Head, hits Rock radio on March 28th.
