Produced by Shane & Shane and Will Hunt, with additional production on three tracks by Paul Moak, Clean fuses pop, worship and folk-rock stylings with lyrical detail and irresistible melodies. The first radio single from the project, He Is Exalted, is currently climbing the radio charts in multiple formats. Many industry-leading stations have immediately added the song to their playlists, including KXOJ, KSBJ, WFHM, WFZH, KFSH, Salem Networks, WAFJ and KVMV.
"Here's a rare chance to play an instantly familiar classic that sounds like today, said KSBJ Houstons Jim Beeler. It's great! It fits."
If theres a theme in the new record, its simply to say that as Christians, we can rest in Gods indescribable grace. He sees us as clean because of what Christ did on the cross, said Barnard. Everett adds, So many times we try to add to Gods grace. We feel like if we do more, pray more, read more, that God will love us more. I dont think its necessarily a conscious thought, but often our lives reflect that flawed way of thinking. The bottom line is that God accomplished everything through Christ and we are free in that grace.
I truly believe that Shane & Shane have delivered a career record with Clean, said Inpop Records general manager, Steve Ford. The amazing success weve seen with Carry Away and Upstairs has set the stage for the release of this project, and the early response has been overwhelming.
This springs Top 10 sales debut of the Shane & Shane fan-project, Upstairs, was met with an overwhelmingly positive response from critics and consumers alike. Although the project was originally intended as a project tailored for long-time fans, the record resonated with a much larger audience. Worship Leader magazine described Upstairs as among the most tender, transparent prayers ever set to music, both fully realized and fearsomely honest. Upstairs is a revelation. Carry Away, the duos previous full-length studio record, was released in March of 2003 for Inpop Records.
A Top 10 debut on SoundScans Top Christian Albums chart and #149 spot on Billboards Top 200 pushed Carry Away to immediate sales success and helped drive the album up radio charts as well. Be Near, the initial single from Carry Away produced by Newsboys frontman Peter Furler, hit #3 on the Christian Radio Weekly (CRW) Inspirational radio chart as the duo toured throughout 2003 and 2004, including headlining the Carry Away tour this spring with special guests Ginny Owens and Shaun Groves.
In addition to wrapping up the recording for Clean, Shane & Shane are preparing for a 31-city fall tour featuring special guest Mat Kearney, which begins on October 14 in Abilene, Texas.
