WOW Gospel Series

While the 2008 version of WOW Gospel doesn't include a new artist highlight, it is still a good album with a lot of great artists to listen to. Surprisingly though, the creators included some older hits that saw their prime well before 2007 instead of hits by the same artists that were super popular in '07. Still great songs, but not necessarily "2008" type songs.

Highlights include: "Hold On" by Yolanda Adams, "Wait" by Vanessa Bell Armstrong, "Anything" by Patti LaBelle featuring Mary Mary, "I'll Trust You" by Richard Smallwood with Vision and "Complete" by LaShun Pace.

This 30-track two-disc set offers up some of the finest contemporary gospel hits of the last several years. "Old School" artists like Helen Baylor, Karen Clark-Sheard, Richard Smallwood, Shirley Caesar and Vanessa Bell Armstrong meet "new sounds" from Tye Tribbett & G.A. and George Huff.

The 2007 version of WOW Gospel features old and new favorites with music from Yolanda Adams, Tye Tribbett & Kim Burrell and Martha Munizzi make this WOW the best one yet.

CeCe Winans, Hezekiah Walker, Anointed, Nicole C. Mullen, Deitrick Haddon and Donnie McClurkin are the premier voices on WOW Gospel 2006.

Groups like the Tri-City Singers and The Canton Spirituals make a strong showing amongst solo artists like Karen Clark-Sheard and Smokie Norful on WOW Gospel 2005.

Debra Killings, Vickie Winans, Dorinda Clark-Cole and Joann Rosario are four of the women of faith who grace this wonderful release.

The heartfelt music by artists like Brent Jones and Kirk Franklin make WOW Gospel 2003 a favorite in my collection.

Lamar Campbell & Spirit of Praise, Marvin Sapp, Smokie Norful, The Bad Boy Family, Darwin Hobbs, Bishop T.D. Jakes & The Potter's House Mass Choir and CeCe Winans are seven of the reasons that this compilation is great.

WOW Gospel 2001 was put out by Jive Records, but it has the same great format as the other WOW Gospel releases. Thirty-two awesome gospel songs grace WOW Gospel 2001.

"Oh What A Friend," "Oh Happy Day" and "God Can" are three classics that get high marks on WOW Gospel 2000.

36 great songs by artists from CeCe Winans to Yolanda Adams and The Canton Spirituals to Virtue are highlighted on WOW Gospel 1999.

The first WOW Gospel features hot music by Kirk Franklin and God's Property and Reverend Milton Brunson And The Thompson Community Singers, setting a high standard for future WOW releases.
