From the bands bio: Our story began in a small church in Jackson , GA ….

Sean Word was leading a youth rally practice with his church’s praise team. Among the group was Dana Morris, Sean’s sister-in-law, and guitarist John Raymond. Also there was the drummer, Woody Howard, and bassist Adam Duncan, both of whom had played before in a band called Wisdom, which Sean had also been briefly involved in.

During the rehearsals, they sounded so good together that the idea was given to play in the amateur contest at Atlanta fest, a music festival that took place at Six Flags in Atlanta , GA. The thought was eagerly accepted and on March 10, 2001 , the five members of a dream, with the help of some others, played their first concert-style youth rally featuring original songs written by Adam, John, and Dana.

Within three weeks, after many, many tries and failures, Dana found the name “Jubal’s Kin” while referring to an earlier sermon that Sean had preached from the scripture Genesis 4:21. Of all the names thrown onto the table, this one actually caught the eyes and ears of everyone. By the end of March 2001, Jubal’s Kin was on their way to an incredible ministry that would amaze them all.

Exclusive Interview with Jubal's Kin

Meet the members of JK ...

Sean Word: lead vocals
John Raymond: guitar
Adam 'Dirtman' Duncan: bass
Woody Howard: drums

Kim: How are you guys doing?

Sean: We're doing great!

Kim: How did it go this year?

Sean: It's going good. We're staying busy. We played Toccoa today and in a couple of weeks we're playing a block party for 90.3 'The Hook' down in Albany, GA. We're playing at Flags All Night at Six Flags on September 12th and then we're playing Four Nights in October at Peachtree City Amphitheater so we're staying busy.

Kim: What night are you going to be at Four Nights?

Sean: We'll be there on Friday night, October the 3rd. We'll be opening up for Switchfoot and Audio Adrenaline.

Jubal's Kin Kim: Cool! We'll be seeing you there then because I'm set to do an interview with Audio Adrenaline that night.

Sean: Great! We'll look forward to seeing you. I'm also the director for U-Night 17, which puts the event on, so I can help get you any information that you need.

Kim: Great! You guys have already been on stage. How was the crowd up here?

John: Very nice.

Sean: I loved it. They were very cooperative and they participated a lot.

Adam: They were very into it. It always makes the band feel good when the crowd gets into it with you.

John: It rocks the house!

Kim: Since there are so many bands here today, I didn't sit down and plan out individual interview questions. You guys probably get a lot of that. So you tell me ... what do you want people to know about what is going on with Jubal's Kin?

Adam: We're just serving the Lord the best way we can. Man, we're just thankful that God opens up doors for us. We enjoy ministering to youth and to the community and having a good time. It's all about Jesus and we have a good time doing it. So let the fans out there know when JK's around come and see us!

Kim: Got any plans to go into the studio?

John: We've got some live cuts that haven't been released yet, and we're hoping to get them released.

Adam: We're hoping to get into the studio soon. Actually, we hope to have something coming out by the first part of next year. We'd love to get a record deal with anybody that's listening.(laughs).

Kim: Jubal's Kin, I appreciate you taking the time to talk to me. Anything you want to say in closing?

Sean: Holla!

Adam: Griffin Georgia's in the house!

John: Keep living for the Lord and don't let go of any dreams that you've got.

Woody: Just keep on walking ya'll.
