- What is the most important thing that God taught you this year?
For people involved with music as a way of life, it's quite a sobering thing to realize that God probably does not take music as seriously as we do. Music and the general "music business" is, or at least should be, a means to an end, and that end is Christ. This year, I had to be reminded yet again (I'm a slow learner) that it is with people and relationships that God's heart truly lies. We get so caught up in the in's and out's of making music that it becomes our focus and, let's call it like it is, even an idol. But music is always at its best when it's focused away from the person or people making it and re-focused on those listening to it and ultimately on the One trying to get them to love each other the way He does - sacrificially, selflessly, accurately.
