James 1:2-4 (New Living Translation)

2 Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. 3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. 4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.

I know people that act as if Christians should be immune to problems - especially during the Christmas season. Nothing is farther from the truth. Yes, Christmas is supposed to be a joyous time because we're celebrating our Savior's birth, but that doesn't mean no head-aches, no problems, no tragedies will come our way during December.

So when something bad happens during this happy season, don't let yourself drown in "Oh woe is me,". While it may be hard to be joyous and say, "Thank you Lord for this difficulty," at least try to say, "Thank you Lord, for helping me through this rough spot."
