Randy Travis Christmas Music

By , About.com Guide

Randy Travis isn't just a holiday favorite; he's a full-time favorite for country music fans everywhere. His two Christmas releases are 18 years apart, but they're both excellent regardless of what year it is!

Songs Of the Season, 2007

Randy Travis - Songs Of the SeasonWord

- (There's No Place Like) Home For the Holidays
- Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
- O Holy Night
- Go Tell It On the Mountain
- Labor Of Love
- Angels We Have Heard On High
- Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow
- Away In a Manger
- O Little Town Of Bethlehem
- Nothin's Gonna Bring Me Down (At Christmas Time)
- The First Noel
- Joy To the World
- Our King

"Nothin's Gonna Bring Me Down (At Christmas Time)" is tongue-and-cheek as only Randy can do. "(There's No Place Like) Home For the Holidays" is a toe-tapper ... even for folks (like one of my family members) who don't list country music as a favorite. "Angels We Have Heard On High" is pure and simple ... and simply glorious.

An Old Time Christmas, 1989

Randy Travis - An Old Time ChristmasWord
- Old Time Christmas
- Winter Wonderland
- Meet Me Under The Mistletoe
- White Christmas Makes Me Blue
- Santa Claus Is Coming To Town
- God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
- Pretty Paper
- Oh, What A Silent Night
- How Do I Wrap My Heart Up For Christmas
- The Christmas Song

The perky "Meet Me Under The Mistletoe" is a great love song for the season. Randy's version of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" is, in a word, outstanding, as is his rendition of "Pretty Paper."
