2012 had some really big moments ... On the sad end of the spectrum, we learned that the Ichthus Ministries Board of Directors announced that they were closing the doors of the festival and there would be no farewell show in 2013; Norman Miller, one of the industry's most beloved managers, lost his battle to cancer; both Flyleaf's Lacey Sturm and BarlowGirl announced their retirements; Randy Travis getting arrested seemed like a regular occurrence; after a 25 year relationship, Steven Curtis Chapman left Sparrow Records; four young adults from Teen Mania Ministries lost their lives in a plane crash on the way to an Acquire the Fire event and Jason Dunn left Hawk Nelson.

The happier front gave us the news that the original Pillar line-up is reuniting. We got to smile when we heard that Francesca Battistelli's new baby had been born at home safely (and no, it wasn't a planned home birth!)

Head shaking, thank you Lord moments came from reading about Sanctus Real's bus catching on fire while the band was sleeping on it and Pastor Marvin Winans getting carjacked but not being seriously injured.

As momentous as each of these events were, they weren't the stories that you read the most. Read on to see the Popular Christian Music Stories of 2012:
