The Point of Grace gals have also released three excellent Christmas albums, bringing holiday joy into our homes in 1999, 2005 and 2008. These ladies love Christmas and their passionate delivery of well-known carols, as well as some new songs, shows us just how much.
1. "Carol Of The Bells/What Child Is This?"
While people sing
Songs of good cheer
Christmas is here
Two wonderful carols done in a truly stunning way. The Point of Grace crew truly outdid themselves on their combined version of these two classic carols.
2. "Little Town"
The great glad tiding tidings tell
Oh come to us, abide with us
Our Lord Emmanuel
Not "O Little Town of Bethlehem" - in fact, not even close. But it is beautiful nonetheless. Harmony that soars is the driving factor behind this Christmas song and the ladies deliver it in a big way.
3. "O Holy Night"
His law is love and His gospel is peace
Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother
And in His name all oppression shall cease
Those wonderful voices and a harp ... it just doesn't get any better than this folks.
4. "All Is Well"
Christ is come go and tell
That He is in the manger
Sing A-le
Sing Alleluia
Michael W. Smith joins the ladies on piano and his talent on the keys combined with Heather Payne's breathless delivery make for pure Christmas magic.
5. "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town"
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake!
More big band sound is what you get on this incredibly fun version of the Christmas classic.
6. "One King"
Drawing men to bow down
Tiny baby born to wear a crown
This piano driven ballad resounds with the reason for the season. Acoustic guitar and flutes only add to the beauty.
7. "Jingle Bells"
O what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh
Big band type fun is what the ladies give us with their version of the Christmas classic.
8. "Not That Far From Bethlehem"
Here all our hope and joy begins
For in our arms we'll cherish him
We're not that far, not that far from Bethlehem
Everything you love about Point of Grace can be found in this beautiful tune ... perfect delivery and harmony that will bring tears to your eyes ... this song gives you a peaceful feeling that you will carry for the rest of the day.
9. "Angels We Have Heard On High"
Him whose birth the angels sing;
Come, adore on bended knee
Christ, the lord, the new-born king.
Summing up Point of Grace's version of "Angels We Have Heard On High" in one word ... simply glorious! (OK - maybe that was two words, but you get the point.) Sounding as though they were joined by a group of angels, Point of Grace delivers majesty and the magic of the season, all rolled up into one neat package.
10. "Breath Of Heaven (Mary's Song)"
Breath of Heaven
Breath of Heaven, lighten my darkness, pour over me Your holiness
For You are holy
Breath of Heaven
This is a beautiful tribute to Mary with harmonies so tight they could crack the walnuts you'll inevitably be using in your holiday baking.
