The official Weekly Top 10 Christian hit songs list is compiled by your Guide by checking and averaging Christian charts and top play lists from all over the U.S. such as Billboard and Air 1.
Matthew West and Chris Tomlin should tour together because they sure do go well together in the top two spots! Phillips, Craig and Dean join them with new music and summer continues to heat up.
1. "The Motions" - Matthew West
The last single release from Something To Say spent 20 weeks in the Top 10 and was the #1 song of 2008. Does "The Motions," a powerful song about living your life instead of just going through the motions, have what it takes to do as well as "You Are Everything?" With this song being in the top 6 on six different charts again this week, I would have to say yes!
2. "I Will Rise" - Chris Tomlin
"I Will Rise," which debuted eleven weeks ago, is the latest single off of Chris Tomlin's 2008 release Hello Love.
3. "Finally Home" - MercyMe
"Finally Home" is the latest single release from All That Is Within Me and this is the 17th week we've seen it. Bart Millard's favorite song on the album because it reminds him of the day that he'll get to see his dad again, this emotional tune resonates with listeners because we all have loved ones that we long to see again.
4. "In The Hands of God" - Newsboys
"In The Hands of God," which we first saw seven weeks ago, is the title track from the latest Newsboys release. Very upbeat and positive, this song is a highlight of the album.
5. "Free To Be Me" - Francesca Battistelli
After debuting 20 weeks ago, this song moved up the charts like a bullet before starting the downward slide this week. The upbeat "Free To Be Me" is the second radio release from My Paper Heart to make the Top 10.
6. "By Your Side" - Tenth Avenue North
"By Your Side," which debuted last November, is the second radio single from the Dove New Artist of the Year's debut album, Over and Underneath. With very Jon Forman sounding vocals, the song is written from the perspective of Jesus himself, and asks some hard questions about why we don't seem to feel like he's enough.
8. "Never Be The Same" - Red
"Never Be The Same," which we first saw in March, is the second radio single we've seen from Innocence & Instinct. This powerful tune is about seeing someone you love lose their way - something we all can relate to.
9. "Revelation Song" - Phillips, Craig & Dean
Debuting this week, "Revelation Song" is off of the upcoming August release, fearless. A tribute to the greatness of Jesus, this song is already a hit at radio.
10. "Jesus Saves" - Travis Cottrell
"Jesus Saves," which debuted last week, comes to us from "Jesus Saves Live" but we actually heard the song before that. Think back to Christmastime last year and Ring The Bells and you will remember this gem.
