Weekly Top 10 Christian Music Hits

For the Week Ending June 21, 2009

By Kim Jones, About.com

The official Weekly Top 10 Christian hit songs list is compiled by your Guide by checking and averaging Christian charts and top play lists from all over the U.S. such as Billboard and Air 1.

Matthew West and Chris Tomlin should tour together because they sure do go well together in the top two spots! Phillips, Craig and Dean join them with new music and summer continues to heat up.

1. "The Motions" - Matthew West

Matthew West - Something To SaySparrow
The last single release from Something To Say spent 20 weeks in the Top 10 and was the #1 song of 2008. Does "The Motions," a powerful song about living your life instead of just going through the motions, have what it takes to do as well as "You Are Everything?" With this song being in the top 6 on six different charts again this week, I would have to say yes!

"Finally Home" is the latest single release from All That Is Within Me and this is the 17th week we've seen it. Bart Millard's favorite song on the album because it reminds him of the day that he'll get to see his dad again, this emotional tune resonates with listeners because we all have loved ones that we long to see again.

6. "By Your Side" - Tenth Avenue North

Tenth Avenue North - Over and UnderneathIntegrity
"By Your Side," which debuted last November, is the second radio single from the Dove New Artist of the Year's debut album, Over and Underneath. With very Jon Forman sounding vocals, the song is written from the perspective of Jesus himself, and asks some hard questions about why we don't seem to feel like he's enough.
