Top 10 Weekly Christian Music Hits - 07-09-06

For the week ending July 9, 2006

By Kim Jones, About.com

The official Top 10 Christian hit songs list is compiled by your Guide by checking and averaging Christian charts from all over the U.S. such as Billboard and R&R.

MercyMe has dethroned Aaron Shust, taking So Long Self to the top. Newcomers Story Side: B, Project 86 and David Phelps round out a mostly male line-up this week.

1. So Long Self - MercyMe

After debuting in May, "So Long Self," off of MercyMe's latest release, Coming Up To Breathe, disappeared off of the Top 10 for a while. Catchy and a little more driving than usual MercyMe fare, this tune stands out as a winner and now it's back in the chart, where it should be.

2. My Savior, My God - Aaron Shust

Aaron Shust - Anything Worth Saying
After debuting 19 weeks ago at number eight, "My Savior, My God" has moved up the charts slowly but surely each week to finally reach the number one slot, where it stayed for weeks before slipping a notch to number two.
