"People Need the Lord" was written by Phillip J. McHugh (writer of 90+ songs) and Gregory Allan Nelson (writer of almost 300 songs such as "His Name is Exalted" and "My Glory.") It has been recorded by a handful of artists with perhaps the most well known version being by Steve Green.
1. Anthony Burger
Anthony Burger created magic on the piano with his version of "People Need The Lord."
2. Avalon
From the 2008 release, Another Time, Another Place: Timeless Christian Classics, Avalon gave this classic a new, updated sound and did it absolute justice while paying great tribute to a song that inspired them on their own walks.
3. Dave Thrush
If Kenny G were to perform this song, I strongly suspect that this is how it would sound.
4. David Slater
This 2008 release features David Slater and the Harding University Concert Choir. They deliver an a cappella performance that is smooth and beautiful.
5. Kelli Williams
On her 2004 version of the classic, Kelli gives the song a smooth R&B sound that can't be beat.
6. Ray Boltz
Released in 2000, Ray's version came out on his album The Classics. With a very easy listening sound backed by piano and strings, Boltz pours his heart into this classic.
7. Steve Green
The title track of his 1994 release quickly became a fan favorite. Green's very soothing delivery helped make this song a worship standard.
